Some Dish boxes work better with the OK / Enter signal, set forth in the manual. Just follow those instructions: 123-LC-ADD; etc.
But Dish is the only STB that has a great Favorites feature in the box. Once set, the CH scrolls only through the Favs set in the box.

Using the Dish remote, press Menu, then Preferences, then Favorites.
