Many Dish set-top boxes (STBs) are preset to enter Standby Mode after 4 hours of inactivity. If you’ve modified Flipper so that the On/Off button controls only the TV, you must disable Standby Mode to prevent interruptions.
How to Disable Standby Mode
1 Use your Dish Remote and
press
Menu
.
2 Navigate to:
-
Preferences → Updates → Disable Standby Mode
3 Save your settings.
If You Can’t Disable Standby Mode
Some newer Dish STBs
no longer allow Standby Mode deactivation.
In this case, try:
✔ Using the Dish timer to
automatically change channels
overnight or early in the morning.
✔ This keeps the STB active and prevents it from entering Standby Mode.
