Favorites Changing to Random Channels? Adjust IR Timing!

When using Favorites, it's important to wait for the box to change channels before pressing the button again. Some older Xfinity boxes have slower processors that take longer to process IR signals. Since they weren’t designed for Flipper’s Favorites feature, they may sometimes jump to random channels.

First, make sure the box is in direct line of sight and we are at least 4-5 feet away.  Some boxes have a small IR receiver on the front bottom panel, so we can increase the IR receiving angle by pulling it forward so it overhangs the shelf, or place it on a small box like a deck of cards, so the front edge is elevated.

Solution: Adjust the IR Signal Speed

Flipper is set to the fastest IR speed by default. Slowing it down can help your cable box process the signals correctly.

How to Decrease IR Speed:

1 Press and hold Device (STB or TV) & CH- for 3 seconds until the light flashes once.
2 This decreases the speed by one level. Test Favorites after each change.
3 Repeat if needed—there are 5 levels total.

How to Increase IR Speed (if needed):

1 Press and hold Device (STB or TV) & CH+ for 3 seconds until the light flashes once.
2 This increases the speed by one level.

Try these adjustments to improve Favorites performance on your Xfinity box! 🚀
