Troubleshooting: Channel Buttons Not Working on Flipper Remote

Xfinity setups vary:
1 Directly into the TV (no separate cable box)
2 Using a small white box/STB (often mounted on a wall or behind furniture)


Step 1: Identify Your Setup

Ask yourself:
Do I change channels with the TV-branded remote? → Set Flipper to TV Only
Do I use a cable/STB remote to change channels? → Sync the STB/Cable box

✅ Stand 4–5 feet away from the devices and ensure direct line of sight.


Step 2: Reset Flipper

🔄 Reset the remote to clear previous settings
👉 Press and hold "ADD" until the light turns solid, then enter 954


Step 3: Program TV & STB

(1) Set TV:
🔹 Press VOL
If it works → Go to Step 2.
If not → Manually enter your TV code:
👉 Press and hold "TV" until the light turns solid, then enter the 4-digit code (test ON/OFF & VOL).

💡 For TV-Only Mode (No cable box):
👉 Press and hold "TV" until solid, then enter 970


(2) Set STB/Cable Box (Xfinity):
🔹 Press CH
If it works → You’re done!
If not, enter the Xfinity code manually:
👉 Press and hold "STB" until the light turns solid, then enter 3084 (test ON/OFF & CH).

💡 For TV-Only Mode (No cable box):
👉 Press and hold "TV" until solid, then enter 970


Final Checks

✅ Ensure direct line of sight to the TV & STB.
✅ If the box is hidden, consider using an IR Extender (see previous message).
✅ Test ON/OFF, Volume, and Channel buttons to confirm setup.
