Channel Buttons Not Working DirecTV

If your channel buttons are not working, follow these steps to troubleshoot:

1. Check Your Remote Code

The most common DirecTV code for Flipper is 2324.

  • Ensure the box is in direct line of sight and you are 4-5 feet away from it.
  • If the code is incorrect, refer to the DirecTV Code List for alternatives.

2. Activate IR Mode

Some DirecTV and Genie boxes operate in RF (radio frequency) mode, which is not compatible with Flipper's IR (infrared) signals. To fix this:

  1. Use your DirecTV remote and navigate to:
    Menu → Settings → Remote Control → Activate IR
  2. If this option is unavailable, check the box settings, manual, or DirecTV online support for further guidance.

3. Reset and Reprogram the Remote (QC Flow)

If issues persist, try resetting and reprogramming the Flipper remote:

Step 1: Reset the Remote

  • Press and hold the ADD button until the light turns solid.
  • Enter 954 to reset.

Step 2: Program the TV

  • Press VOL. If it works, proceed to the next step.
  • If not, press and hold TV until the light turns solid.
  • Enter the 4-digit TV code and test power (ON/OFF) and volume (VOL).

Step 3: Program the STB (Set-Top Box)

  • Press CH. If channels change, setup is complete.
  • If not, press and hold STB until the light turns solid.
  • Enter the 4-digit STB code (usually 2324 for DirecTV).

If problems continue, try repeating the setup with an alternative DirecTV code from the list.
