Sky Q is usually code 3734.
Some SkyQ boxes will power on the a smart screen.
1) Best solution as of now is to leave the Sky Q on all the time. In Flipper, modify: press and hold ADD till solid, then 999. On off will only turn on and off the TV.
2) Look for a setting in Sky Q to turn this off. Give them a call - many people have complained about this;
3) Disconnect the wifi. This screen only comes on if the box is connected to wifi (our understanding);
4) Use Learning to copy the Exit signal into Flipper's Mute.
The below is form a Flipper customer who successfully did this:
Programming a Flipper remote control to operate a Sony TV and Sky Q Box
Ensure Standby feature on Sky Q Box is turned off. (On Sky Q Box go to Home, Settings, Set Up, Preferences, Standby Mode, then select None).
Ensure Flipper remote is reset to factory settings, by pressing the “ADD” button until light turns solid, then enter 954.
Set remote to recognize TV. Hold “TV” button until the light turns solid, then enter code 8681. (If this does not work then other Sony codes to try are 6391, 3611, 0141, 3391)
Set remote to recognize Sky Q box. Hold ”STB” button until the light turns solid, then enter code 3734.
Overcoming the problem with Sky Q always defaulting to the Home screen when first switched on.
By default, the Sky Q box always shows the multi-screen Home page. In order for the Flipper remote to change channels correctly it is necessary to use an alternative to the ‘Dismiss’ button on the Sky remote (this is the button which has a left pointing arrow within a box).
To create a ‘Dismiss’ button on the Flipper remote it is necessary to copy the signal for this button from the Sky remote to a button on the Flipper remote. The mute button on the Flipper remote can be used for this purpose.
To do this, on the Flipper press and hold “TV” and “On/Off” at the same time until a light comes on.
Press the grey Mute button on the Flipper.
Point the Flipper and the Sky remote at each other and press the ‘Dismiss’ button on the Sky remote until the Flipper light starts flashing.
Press “TV” to exit.
