How to use these articles

UUniversal remote controls use IR infrared signals, a part of the visible spectrum, which is why we need direct line of sight to the devices, and be far enough away so they spread out.

Cable STB and TV manufacturers sometimes release new devices, do not use existing code seats, and do not tell remote control manufacturers like Flipper in advance.

As a result, we sometimes have a delay in importing new code sets into Flipper sue to production cycles.

First, look an the back of your Flipper - the version / model number is the V... followed by a number.

The most recent in numeric order, currently v12.   Most of the newer Android / Google powered STBs are in the 9.7 and above.  The most common of those codes are 2974, 3254, 4154, and if Altice then look at the Altice codes.

Most device codes are found in the paper manual and code list.  The "Common STB Codes" article has refinements including many by model number.  Then there are subsequent updates.

If your Flipper is a v12, it will have the v12, v10 and v9.7 updates, as well as the "Common Codes."

Keep in mind you can always use Code Search to scan the database and look for a match (if the box turns off), or use Learning to copy the IR infrared signal from your device remote.  But keep in mins this does not work for Bluetooth or Radio Frequency devices.

Any questions, just give a call - we are working on a searchable drop down database and hope to have that running for the next models in the fall, 2025!
